A Letter To My 15 Year Old Self #SelfLove

"How can you love genuinely without first loving yourself? I fall in love with myself daily...I’m a huge advocate for self love because there was a time when I didn’t love myself...I let my past mistakes, experiences, relationships, and failures define me...I have learned that my past doesn’t make me less worthy, loved, special, etc...I urge you to choose love everyday not just today...first, learn to love yourself and then spread love to those around you daily(community service, checking on a friend, sending words of affirmation, etc)...be blessed" - Mangenda Kosseh

It seems as if this year the internet unanimously decided that 2019 is the year of Self Love or Self Care.

From talk shows to blogs to even the banterful Twittersphere; everyone has been crying #SelfLove #SelfCare.

All of this is completely understandable and why shouldn't we? We live to work just so we can work to live? That doesn't make any sense!

Valentine's Day aside, everyday should be Valentine's Day; whether or not you're in a relationship because we cannot love someone else if we don't love ourselves.

A few weeks ago, Ariana Oluwole of Ariana Diaries asked me to write a piece for her as a guest blogger entitled "A Letter To Your Younger Self".

I have seen these kind of posts over the years and it couldn't have come at a better time. My post on Ariana's page comes out next week so be sure to check out her blog!

In the theme of #SelfLove and #SelfCare, see below my letter to my 15 year old self:

Happy Valentine's Day reader & remember to practice #SelfLove and #SelfCare x
