Hey y'all!
A little birdie told me you all can't start your July without me. C'est vrai (is that true)?
With the whopping reduction in crude oil prices of a WHOLE two Leones, I figured you'd all have a plethora of places to rush off to without my assistance.
Evidently, I was wrong? 🤭
Well here I am, delivering the most of what July has to offer. I have to admit though, July gave me a run for my creative labor. With the rains, it was a bit more of a challenge to find activities and events for you all to consider.
I guess some event curators and organizers fear they may just melt away. Myself included. 🤭
Alright, enough jabs. Let's cut to the chase and to why you are really here. 😏
Here are 7 Things to do in Freetown this month:
1.) African Buffet & Live Music Fridays 🎶

The View is giving Freetownians a reason to elevate their Fridays, starting with their popular African buffet in the early to mid-afternoon and continuing into the evening with live music until late.
If you're looking for good food, music and a view, then you can be a part of this experience on:
Date: every Friday
Time
Buffet: 12:00 - 4:00 pm | Live Music: 4:00 pm till late
Venue: 17 Wallace Johnson Street (Freetown City Council), 15th Floor

2.) Salone Square Quiz 🧩

If you're looking for new people to meet and also jog your memory while learning new things, then Salone Square Quiz (SSQ) may be for you!
SSQ is more than just trivia, drinks and a vibe, it also has a social impact aspect. Cassava will be catering the food and all their proceeds go to support their Lunch Box charity.
Be a part of the fun and support a good cause on:
Date: Friday, July 17 2026
Time: 7:30 pm
Venue: Salone Square, Old IMATT (ISAT)
Fee: SLE 40/person and a maximum of 6 people are permitted per team

3.) World Cup Finale 🏆

Indeed it's a FIFA World Cup Year. For the soccer fans...this is for you.
It's that time of the year where restaurants and bars host viewing parties of the World Cup across the globe. Dis Wol Cup eh, it came with more than its fair share of controversy and drama, from immigration wahala, to formerly colonized countries playing their colonizers 😹. It has been a spectacle!
And the question remains, who will win?
I have no opinion or clue as I do not watch soccer, however I might be tuning in to the finale because, well that's the exception for me. And by the way did y'all know the prize money is $50 million? 👀 Mi nor bin know o!
Eh, God abeg am I in the wrong profession?
Help me snag a football boo on 😉:
Date: Sunday, July 19 2026
Time: 7:00 pm
Venue: Wherever you want or can
4.) Self-Care Day 🩵

Now this...I know. And now you do too!
International Self-Care Day is on July 24 to symbolize that self-care should be practiced 24/7 (get it?! Ain't that clever? 😄).
This year's theme, "Your Mental Health Matters", focuses on the importance of small but consistent daily habits such as mindfulness and adequate sleep, which have proven to be more effective for lasting well-being than sporadic wellness routines.
Self-care looks different to everyone and there is not right or wrong way to do it. Whatever feels right for you, I hope you honor yourself on the 24th, which so happens to be a Friday this year and take care of the most important person in your life: YOU.
5.) Friends & Charms 👥

Bejeweled SL is launching their charm bar this month and is hosting a Friends & Charms experience.
Whether you’re coming with your favorite people or looking to make new connections, this is your chance to create something cute, personal and memorable together.
You can learn to make charm bracelets and other jewelry pieces of your choice on:
Date: Saturday, July 25 2026
Time: 2:00 - 5:00 pm
Venue: Aberdeen (the exact location will be shared upon booking)
Fee: SLE 1000 (inclusive of food, drinks and jewelry)
